RUBELLA - IGM

Rubella is a viral infection often marked by a rash. It spreads mainly through respiratory aerosols when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The initial sign of rubella usually appears as a macro-papular rash that develops 16-20 days after exposure. The rash typically starts on the face and then spreads to the trunk and limbs. The presence of Rubella IgM antibodies in the blood indicates a recent or current rubella infection. In some rare cases, IgM antibodies may persist for years after a past infection or immunization.
